The V&A is the world’s leading museum of art, design and performance, housing 2.3m objects that span 5000 years of human ingenuity, alongside a world-leading programme of exhibitions and events. Its ambitious strategy will see it expand to multiple sites in London in coming years – making this one of the most exciting times in V&A history.
The Audience, Commercial and Digital division is responsible for making our visitors feel part of the V&A’s growing family of sites as it evolves. This division leads the V&A’s brand, audience, reputation, digital, front of house and commercial (retail, catering, publishing, brand licencing and ticketing) activity, building a lasting relationship with current and future audiences, driving value and revenue in the process.
The Commercial focus is to generate revenue, using the V&A brand, collections and exhibitions here in London and across the world. 100% of our profits are returned to the museum, helping to fund its programme and collections for the future. The famous V&A Shops are considered a benchmark in museum trading across the world, and set a standard to which others aspire.
Having recently implemented Salesforce Commerce Cloud as our new eCommerce platform, bringing together online retail, ticketing, membership sales and donations into one seamless shopping experience that underpins the V&A brand, the eCommerce arm of this division is developing ambitious plans for the future of its online shop.
